Beste mede leden laten we aub dit topic niet verneuken door elkaar hier off topic te gaan zitten afzeiken... kan ook echt nooit goed gaan he !!

Als een mod dit leest, haal al die troep eruit die er niet bij hoort aub want anders ga ik echt niet verder met nieuwe artikelen plaatsen hier. helaas gaan dan de mensen die wel interesse hebben ook met niets naar huis zou zonde zijn.

Superpro Sportcenter, het nieuwe sportcentrum aan de Campagneweg, had voor haar open dag meervoudig wereldkampioen K1 Peter Aerts uitgenodigd gastlessen te verzorgen in Zevenbergen.
Vanuit alle windhoeken hadden zo'n 130 kickboksers zich aangemeld om zaterdag de kneepjes te leren van 'Mister K-1', de eretitel waaronder Aerts bij vechtsporters bekend is.

Zowel 's morgens, toen de beginners hun seminar volgden, als 's middags kwam - ondanks de afzuiging - de damp uit de ruime bokshal. De geur van zweet en massageolie was nadrukkelijk aanwezig.

Eigenaar Dennis Krauweel meldt trots en blij te zijn met de verhuizing begin november naar het nieuwe pand op het industrieterrein. Hij runde zijn boksschool tien jaar in de voormalige gymzaal aan de Dr. Ariënslaan.

"Respect, discipline, zelfvertrouwen en leren omgaan met anderen zijn aspecten die belangrijk zijn bij een vechtsport" stelt Krauweel, die zich hofleverancier van talenten bij het middengewicht noemt. "Het topsportgedeelte is slechts een klein deel, daarnaast trainen wij jeugd, recreanten en zakenlui. Ook komen hier jongeren die we helpen binnen hun re-integratietraject."

In een korte rondleiding toont hij ook het krachthonk boven en de grote oefenzaal die zo zou kunnen dienen als dansstudio. In de bokshal geeft Peter Aerts tal van aanwijzingen aan de kickboksers die naast hun handschoenen, beenbescherming en gebitsbescherming dragen. Twee uur met halverwege enkele minuten pauze om op adem te komen, daarna is het weer 'sparren' geblazen en proberen de deelnemers Mister K-1 na te doen.

chuck liddl terug ?

More than two months after his disappointing UFC 115 loss to Rich Franklin, UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell (21-8 MMA, 16-7 UFC) is still waiting to decide what comes next.

During a special Q&A session at this past weekend's UFC Fan Expo Boston 2010 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Liddell said he hopes to make a decision in the next month or two, but he isn't ruling out a return to the cage.

And if he does come back, it won't be for a one-off affair.

"I don't know yet," Liddell said of his future. "I haven't taken too much time to think about it. I've been traveling. I've only been home two days in a row twice since my last fight, so I really haven't settled down.

"I get to be home for a month here coming up, so I'm going to go home and kind of figure out what I'm doing now."

Liddell remains one of the UFC's most beloved fighters, and in 2009 he was enshrined in the organization's Hall of Fame. But despite coming to UFC 115 in the best condition he's been in years, Liddell still suffered a first-round knockout to former middleweight champion Rich Franklin.

The loss was Liddell's third-consecutive knockout defeat, and he fell to just 1-5 in his past six outings.

The difficult stretch led UFC president Dana White in June to declare Liddell retired. When pressed by MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) to determine what he would do if Liddell insisted on further competition, White sheepishly stated he would consider releasing the "Iceman."

That statement fueled speculation that Liddell could take his services elsewhere if White held firm to his demands. But at the Q&A session, Liddell said fighting outside of the world's premier mixed martial arts organization didn't really appeal to him.

"[White] really kind of left it up to me," Liddell said. "I really haven't thought about it. Until I figure out what I'm doing and decide what I want to do, there's no reason to think about that.

"I mean really, if I come back to fight, I want to fight to be the best and prove I'm the best. The only place I can do that is the UFC."

During the hour-long fan-driven Q&A, the subject of a potential Liddell return to the octagon to "punch Tito Ortiz in the head" was brought up several times.

While Liddell said he'd be more than happy to face his arch-rival and complete the coaches fight from "The Ultimate Fighter 11" that never took place, the 40-year-old said if he returns, he's not limiting the list of potential opponents. He'll be looking to make a run at the belt, and that means he'll take on all comers.

"I'll fight whoever," Liddell said. "Whatever it takes to get back to a world title, if I decide to continue."

shane carwin aan de anabolen?

The name of former UFC interim heavyweight champion Shane Carwin appeared on a list of 22 professional athletes federal prosecutors allege obtained steroids from a Mobile, Ala.-based pharmacy between 2004-06, according to an internet report published on Friday by the Mobile Press-Register newspaper.

Carwin was among seven athletes – including pro wrestlers Kurt Angle and “Hardcore” Bob Holly as well as four professional bodybuilders – named by Assistant U.S. Attorney Donna Dobbins at the sentencing of Alabama pharmacist J. Michael Bennett. Bennett, one of five men recently found guilty of "participating in a nationwide conspiracy to illegally sell anabolic steroids," was sentenced to four years in prison, according to the report.

Court records also referenced a half-dozen other bodybuilders, seven pro wrestlers and two professional baseball players by only their initials, according to the Press-Register.

Prosecutors referred to Bennett, a supervising pharmacist, and his co-defendants -- the owners of Mobile’s Applied Pharmacy Services and another anti-aging clinic owner -- as "drug dealers in lab coats" and court records said the men “shipped 762,388 dosages (of steroids) to 17 doctors and clinics from April 4, 2004, until Aug. 30, 2006.”

The four other men will be sentenced at a later date and U.S. District Judge Ginny Granade implied they could receive stiffer penalties than Bennett, the report said.

It is unknown if legal action will be pursued against any of the athletes named in the case.

“They contended that Bennett played a key role in an enterprise involving rogue doctors and health clinics across the country who used the compounding pharmacy to supply healthy adults with dangerous steroids. Some of those substances were veterinary drugs approved only for use in livestock.

‘These are steroids for horses and cows, not for young people and humans,’ Assistant U.S. Attorney Dobbins said.”

(UPDATE: MMA Fighting.com reports Carwin's agent, Jason Genet, said his client "had no comment, but plans to make a statement at a later date."
