The Protein Poem
The value of protein
is greater than gold
it directs hormones in our cells
it builds new after old
it fuels the furnace
to burn fat's mold
it heightens alertness
to do and be, before told
it maximizes focus
and energizes the soul
it blocks sugar's insulin spikes,
from consuming more sugary foes
The value of protein
is greater than gold
it restores and renews
tells ghrelin to shut up and go
could gold synthesize muscle,
satiate,
or carry us day to day?
Nay.
That is why protein is so expensive.
Buy it anyway.
The value of fiber (yes, it wasn't inferred that this was part of the poem)
is self explanatory.
It is also better than gold.
For gold would sit, and stay.
But fiber can move.
That's really all I need to say.
